YAMAHA YSR-50

This is a really tiny motorcycle, the top of the windscreen is barely 36" off the ground, and the total displacement is only 50 cc's. I've got two of these, one for parts, and one for racing. In the last few years, I've raced this bike at the Coos-Bay track, with RAM, at Seattle International Raceway (SIR), and the NCMRRA track in Sacramento. If you want to start racing with minimum risk this is the way to go. Riding these things have improved my abilities on bigger bikes, because it teaches you about drive, passing, and corner speed in the most brutal way. If you want to learn more about YSR's check out Team Calamari's web site.

Here are some photos of me at SIR. I'm the guy in the back of the pack. I finished 4th or 5th overall, and 2nd or 3rd in the 50 class. (2 Eighties lapped the field). Why am I unclear on the finish? Well from the YSR newsgroup, I'm most certain that 2 YSR 50's finished in front of me, the WMRRA web site listed me as 2nd. So I'm not sure if there was a DQ or what. But I had a blast.

Thanks to Havoc23 for the photos.
